WICHE/WUE-Western Undergraduate Exchange

Participation in WICHE/WUE allows residents of Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington and Wyoming to pay 150 percent of in-state fees while retaining their home state residency status.

The CSUSB Bursar's Office provides a listing of all student registration/tuition fees*. Under the Non-resident and International Students section, WICHE/WUE fees information is listed.

*Please note: Fees are subject to change by the Trustees of the California State University System. For more information, visit the CSU Budget Office.

The CSU makes every effort to keep student costs to a minimum. Fees listed in published schedules or student accounts may need to be increased when public funding is inadequate. Therefore, CSU must reserve the right, even after initial fee payments are made, to increase or modify any listed fees, without notice, until the date when instruction for a particular semester or quarter has begun. All CSU listed fees should be regarded as estimates that are subject to change upon approval by The Board of Trustees.

In order to participate in the reduced fee program, CSUSB applicants must request WICHE/WUE status PRIOR to the first day of classes of the quarter to which they have applied to the university. (Submitting this request to Admissions & Student Recruitment by Sept. 1 for fall, Dec. 1 for winter, and March 1 for spring will allow enough time for the request to be processed by all offices involved.)

If a student intends to establish residency in the state of California for purposes of paying in state fees, the time that student has resided in California while participating in this program is excluded from the one year normally required to establish residency. The one year required will begin when the student’s request to withdraw from WICHE/WUE has been processed by the Office of Admissions & Student Recruitment.

Participants must adhere to the policies of participation including notifying the campus coordinator about changes of major and the intention to withdraw from the program.

Please note: There is a limit of 4 years of maximum participation in WICHE/WUE. Students may voluntarily choose to end participation at any time prior to the 4 year limit.
