Academic Records

The university requires applicants to submit official college and university records for evaluation. Many applicants to CSUSB have records from schools in both the U.S. and other countries. These diverse educational documents can be challenging when considering admission and possible transfer credit. CSUSB’s international admission counselors are knowledgeable about the different grading systems and methods of evaluating coursework from other countries. To ensure timely evaluation of records, applicants are advised to request academic records early.

  • All transcripts/marks sheets, including diplomas from secondary and post-secondary schools, must be sent directly from institutions to the Office of International Admissions. Some cases may take a substantial amount of time to receive and evaluate. Please make arrangements for academic records and other documents to be sent to us well in advance.
  • A listing of each course taken with the earned grade/mark. All applicants from India and Pakistan must provide official copies of yearly marks sheets including minimum and maximum marks obtained for each examination completed.
  • Any diplomas, degrees, or certificates earned should be submitted.
  • Certified translations are required for academic records issued in languages other than English. Translators with knowledge of educational systems should be used. A listing of translating resources may be found at (link to our international additional resources page)
  • Course descriptions are required in order to determine earned transfer credit.
