Please note: All first-time freshmen applicants for fall 2012 must be fully eligible for admission based on the courses they have completed at the end of the spring 2012 term. CSUSB will not be able to accept any coursework taken during the summer 2012 term toward admission to fall 2012.
Eligibility Index
CSUSB has defined its local area for fall 2012 to include public school districts within San Bernardino and Riverside counties. Some private and parochial schools have been accounted for within the local area as well. The Eligibility Index you use will be determined by the high school from which you will graduate. If your high school is on the list, you will use the Local Area Eligibility Index. If your high school is not on the list, you will use the Out of Local Area Eligibility Index.
Local Area Eligibility Index
We will also use a combination of your high school college preparatory grade point average and your score from either the SAT or ACT. Your GPA and test score are used to determine an eligibility index.

Out-of-state/Non-resident students
The eligibility index requirements for out-of-state, non-resident students are higher than for California residents. For non-resident students, a GPA of 3.61 or higher qualifies with any test score. A 2.45 is the minimum regular admission GPA.
High School Graduation/Equivalency
Applicants may satisfy the high school graduation requirement by submitting the California Certificate of Proficiency, the General Educational Development (GED) certificate or equivalent certificates awarded by other states.
