Santos Manuel Student Union
As a campus center, the Santos Manuel Student Union assists in the retention and growth of students, while encouraging a deeper understanding and appreciation of cultural pluralism, gender equity and ethnic diversity through a variety of cultural, social, educational and recreational activities which create an environment conducive to personal development. As a bridge between formal learning and life experience, co-curricular activities coordinated by the SMSU serve as a training ground for the emergence of student leaders.
The SMSU includes lounge and study areas, the Coyote Café, the Pub, Starbucks, game room and a spacious enclosed courtyard. Offices for the Associated Students, Inc. and Student Leadership & Development, meeting rooms for organizations and the 1,000-seat Events Center used for major events are a part of the facility. The SMSU also houses the Adult Re-Entry Center; the Cross Cultural Center; the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Center; SMSU Programming Board; and the Women’s Resource Center.
